Andrea Laue is a mixed-media artist based in Reno, Nevada. Her work imagines climate futures and invites viewers to explore ways in which we might remake our relationships with the living world so that we may all thrive on a warmer planet. Both mournful and hopeful, her art holds her contradictory feelings about the present and the future, and the histories that delivered us here.

Raised in Southwestern Kansas and a former resident of Missouri, Virginia, and California, Andrea feels most at home in the Great Basin. Andrea holds a Ph.D. in English Literature with an emphasis in Digital Humanities. She has worn many hats during her career, working in university library archives, scholarly publishing, and photojournalism.

Record wildfires in 2020 prompted yet another career transition. Witnessing forests to whom she was intimately attached burn, Andrea felt a need to respond artistically, to engage imaginatively with what might otherwise be overwhelming loss.
